Lovely Drinks. Great People Watching.A very pleasant place to sit out on a sunny day - which is most days in Madeira.We had just walked down the steps from Cabo Girau and had lunch at the Dock’s sister restaurant (both part of Pestana Churchill Bay hotel). So, we thought we would move to here for coffees.We then also got tempted by the Pastelaria Varida (pastry dessert) and a glass each of 5yr old Medium Dry Madeiran wine - the waiter talked us into it.The bill came to E23 (but E14 of that was the wine) so good value for a posh hotel in such a great location.

Novo Poncha - Tapas Bar na baía de Câmara de Lobos com pessoal muitíssimo simpático e amável. Espaço em memória de Winston Churchill com decoração que lembra os clubes ingleses. Esplanada extremamente agradável com estátua de Churchill onde se pode sentar para tirar uma foto.

Schöner Blick auf die Bucht aber diesen bezahlt man leider auch. 100 Meter Stadteinwärts bekommt man bessere Nikitas für das halbe Geld und Snacks noch oben drauf! Die Aussicht und Sonne im Gesicht sind aber auch was wert!

Gute Preise und tolle Aussicht! Wir haben Ponchas und Toast mit Schinken und Käse bestellt, als Kompliment dazu auch leckere Oliven bekommen. Nun wäre alles gut, wenn mein Freund sich nicht tagelang danach schlecht fühlen würde und keine Lebensmittelvergiftung bekommen hätte (davor haben wir nirgendwo anders gegessen). Und auf den Toast haben wir auch bestimmt 20-25 min gewartet, am Ende war er sogar nicht heiß oder zumindest lau warm 🤷🏻‍♀️💭 Vielleicht hatten wir einfach Pech oder die Mitarbeiter müssen besser auf die Hygiene achten.

Eine Terrasse direkt gegenüber der kleinen Bucht lädt zum Verweilen ein auf ein Getränk oder auch einen kleinen Imbiss. Das Lokal ist wunderschön und auch im Sanitärbereich sehr sauber. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit auch bei Fragen außerhalb des Lokals. Es macht Spaß hier Zeit zu verbringen.
